Abstract

Description
・PLL制御のために要求されるメインのVCOゲインから独立して設定された小さい変調バラクタブロック・ゲイン。
・変調バラクタにかかる低レベルのRF電圧とRF電力の変調指数への小さい影響。
・制御電圧がゼロRF電圧のノードに印加され、LCタンクQファクタに影響しない。
・全バラクタ制御電圧範囲を利用する。

Claims (12)
- 電圧制御発振器で使用される可変容量変調器であって、
差動バラクタブロックと、
前記バラクタブロックのノードをタンク回路に接続する結合容量と、
前記ノードとグラウンドの間に接続され、該可変容量変調器のゲインを調整する手段と
を備えた可変容量変調器。 - 前記手段は複数のスイッチド・トリム容量を備える請求項1に記載の可変容量変調器。
- 前記スイッチド・トリム容量は互いに同一である請求項2に記載の可変容量変調器。
- 前記スイッチド・トリム容量はNMOSスイッチを有する請求項1及至3のいずれかに記載の可変容量変調器。
- 差動バラクタブロックと、
前記バラクタブロックの一対のノードをタンク回路に接続する複数の結合容量と、
前記一対のノードをグラウンドに接続する複数のスイッチド・トリム容量と
を備えた直接変調電圧制御発振器。 - 前記複数の結合容量は互いにほぼ等しい請求項5に記載の直接変調電圧制御発振器。
- 前記複数のスイッチド・トリム容量は互いに同一である請求項6に記載の直接変調電圧制御発振器。
- 前記複数のスイッチド・トリム容量はアレーを構成している請求項7に記載の直接変調電圧制御発振器。
- 前記タンク回路は前記複数の結合容量に接続されている請求項5及至8のいずれかに記載の直接変調電圧制御発振器。
- 前記結合容量と前記スイッチド・トリム容量はMOMフリンジ基本容量セル群から構成されている請求項5及至9のいずれかに記載の直接変調電圧制御発振器。
- 直接変調電圧制御発振器を制御する方法であって、
変調可変容量を準備することと、
前記変調可変容量のゲインを調整することと
を備える制御方法。 - 前記ゲインは、Qファクタ損失を最小化するようにスイッチド・トリム容量を使用して調整される請求項11に記載の制御方法。
