Abstract
【解決手段】 ハイブリッド式の駆動ユニット20は、スクータ型二輪車1の車軸10を駆動するエンジン30およびモータ80と、動力分配機構50と、発電機60とを備える。発電機60およびモータ80の各々が、エンジン30のクランク軸35およびプラネタリキャリア51のキャリア軸52を含む動力軸上からスクータ型二輪車1の前後方向の異なる位置にずらして設けられる。このため、発電機60およびモータ80が動力分割機構50と車幅方向に並ぶことがないため、駆動ユニット20を車幅方向に大きく張り出すことなくスクータ型二輪車1に搭載することができる。

Description
まず、本実施の形態に係る自動二輪車について、図面を参照して説明する。なお、「前」、「後」、「左」、「右」、「上」、「下」は運転者から見た方向に従う。また、この実施の形態では、自動二輪車をハイブリット式の駆動ユニットを備えたスクータ型の自動二輪車(以下、「スクータ型二輪車」という)として説明する。
発進時および軽負荷走行時では、スクータ型二輪車1は、モータ80の駆動力のみで発進、走行を行う。また、バッテリの充電量が所定値以上であるため、発電機60での発電を行う必要がない。このため、エンジン30は停止している。
定常走行時では、スクータ型二輪車1は、エンジンの燃費率がよい運転領域で車両が走行できるように、エンジン30の動力およびモータ80の動力の両方で走行する。具体的には、エンジン30の動力を動力分配機構50により、後輪8を直接駆動させるための車両駆動力と、発電機60に発電を行わせるための発電駆動力とに適切に分配する。つまり、駆動ユニット20は、車両駆動力と、発電駆動力により発電機60で発電された電力によるモータ80の動力とを出力する。
加速、登坂などの高出力が必要な走行時には、スクータ型二輪車1は、上記<定常走行時>の動作に加えて、エンジンの回転数を上げると同時に、発電した電力の他にバッテリに蓄積されている電力もモータ80に供給し、より強い駆動力を出力する。つまり、エンジン30の駆動力に加えて、モータ80の駆動力を車軸10に伝達することにより、後輪8は回転する。
減速、制動時には、スクータ型二輪車1は、エンジン30のエンジンブレーキを作用させる。即ち、後輪8の車軸10の回転は、減速機90、チェーン100および動力分配機構50を介してエンジン30に伝達され、エンジン30のピストン32を上下させることになるが、この時、ピストン32の上下動に伴う摩擦及び圧縮抵抗力、所謂、エンジンブレーキが作用する。
まず、図示しないバッテリに蓄積された電力を発電機60に通電し、発電機60をモータとして機能させ、この回転力によりエンジンを始動させる。そして、エンジン30駆動後のアイドリング時には、エンジン30は動力分配機構50を介して発電機60を駆動し、この発電機60の駆動により発電した電力は、バッテリに充電、あるいは、モータ80に供給される。
発進、軽負荷走行時では、エンジン30の動力による発電機60の発電力でバッテリの充電を行いながら、モータ80の駆動力で発進、走行を行う。
定常走行時では、スクータ型二輪車1は、バッテリの充電量が所定値以下の時も、上記のバッテリの充電量が所定値以上の時と基本的に同様の動作を行う。ただし、バッテリの充電量が所定の値以上になるまでは、発電機60から得られる電力は、モータ80を駆動させること以外に、バッテリの充電にも利用される。
加速、登坂などの高出力が必要な走行時には、上記<定常走行時>の駆動ユニット20の動作に加えて、エンジンの回転数を上げると同時に、発電した電力の他にバッテリに蓄積されている電力もモータ80に供給し、より強い駆動力を出力する。ただし、バッテリの充電量が所定の値以上になるまでは、バッテリの電力はモータ80に供給せず、その時点において発電機60から供給できる最大電力によるモータ80の駆動力と、エンジン30からの車両駆動力とを出力する。
減速、制動時には、スクータ型二輪車1では、車軸10の回転が減速機90を介してモータ80に伝達されることにより、モータ80が回転し、このモータ80を発電機として機能させて回生させる。これにより、車両減速、制動時の運動エネルギーは電気的エネルギーに変換され、バッテリに回収される。つまり、モータ80における回生ブレーキの減速・制動作用によって、スクータ型二輪車1は減速・制動する。
図9は、本実施の形態2に係るパラレルハイブリッド式の駆動ユニットを搭載したスクータ型二輪車の左側面図である。図10は、図9の駆動ユニットの要部を示す左側面図である。図11は、図10の駆動ユニットの要部を水平に2分割したときのII−II断面図である。

Claims (8)
- エンジンにより回転する動力軸と、
前記動力軸の回転により発電する発電機と、
前記動力軸の回転により駆動される駆動輪と、
前記動力軸に設けられ、前記エンジンの駆動力を前記発電機および駆動輪に対して分配する動力分配手段と、
前記発電機の電力により前記駆動輪を回転させるモータと、を具備し、
前記動力軸は、車両進行方向と直交するよう配置されるとともに、
前記発電機と前記モータとの少なくとも一方は、前記動力分配手段に対し、車両前後方向の異なる位置に配置されることを特徴とする自動二輪車。 - 前記エンジンのシリンダ部と前記発電機とは、前記動力軸に対し、車両進行方向前方に隣接配置されたことを特徴とする請求項1記載の自動二輪車。
- 前記エンジンのシリンダ部と前記発電機と前記動力軸との上方の空間にトランクスペースを有してなることを特徴とする請求項2記載の自動二輪車。
- 前記エンジンのシリンダ部は、前記動力軸に対し、車両進行方向前方に配置される一方、前記発電機は、前記動力分配手段の上方かつ着座部の下方に設けられたことを特徴とする請求項1記載の自動二輪車。
- 前記発電機は、車幅方向外側に設けられたベルト又はチェーンにより前記動力分配手段から動力を伝達される位置に配置されたことを特徴とする請求項1から請求項4のいずれかに記載の自動二輪車。
- 前記モータと前記駆動輪とを同軸に配置するとともに、前記駆動輪の軸と前記動力軸と前記発電機の軸との地上高をほぼ同一とすることを特徴とする請求項1から請求項3のいずれかに記載の自動二輪車。
- 前記エンジンは、そのシリンダの軸線を略水平にして設けられることを特徴とする請求項6記載の自動二輪車。
- 前記エンジンおよび前記モータからの駆動力を調節して前記駆動輪の軸に伝達する減速機を具備し、
前記減速機は、前記エンジンから前記駆動輪の軸への駆動力伝達経路において、前記動力分配手段の下流に設けられることを特徴とする請求項1から請求項7のいずれかに記載の自動二輪車。
