本発明の第1実施形態に係るRFIDタグ1は、図1に示すように、ICが内蔵されているICチップ装着部2と、前記ICに接続されているアンテナ3a,3bと、前記アンテナ3a,3bを固定するアンテナ固定部4と、商品等に添付するためのストラップ5などを有している。
ICチップ装着部2は、ICチップを実装したエポキシ樹脂からなるCOB(Chip On Board)からなり、このCOBの端子にアンテナ3a,3bが接続されている。

アンテナ3a,3bは、連続的につながっているが、それぞれ円形状に2重巻きされ、アンテナ3aとアンテナ3bとが直角に交差した状態で立体形状を有して、ICチップ装着部2とアンテナ固定部4とで一体的に固定されている。
アンテナ3a,3bの基材は、導伝性物質ならばどのようなものでもよく、例えば、金、銀、銅、鉄、アルミニウム、亜鉛、ニッケル、クロム、その他の金属、及び、これら金属の二種または三種以上の合金等を使用することができる。

本発明に使用するアンテナ3a,3bは、例えば、以下の方法により製造される。
一般のエナメルのごとく線状に成形した金属を、波長に対応する長さに切断し、渦巻状や任意の形状に成形する。
または、板状に成形した金属を、一般のフォトリソグラフィーによるエッチングやメッキ、若しくはプレスにて任意の形状に打ち抜く、その後、例えば地球独楽のごとく立体成形しても良いし、あるいはプラスチックフィルムでラミネート、あるいは樹脂にて立体形状を保ったまま封止しても良い。
この際に使用する金属は、上記のように単一金属ではなく、金属の二種または三種以上の合金等も使用することができるが、導電性と実用面で金、銀、銅、鉄、アルミニウム等が好ましく用いられる。

また、前述したように、本発明にかかるデザイン化されたアンテナは、不慮のショートや外部汚染からアンテナを保護する為、且つ意匠性を高める為に、アンテナを貴金属メッキしたり、所望の塗料を塗布したり、プラスチックチューブ等で被覆することが好ましい。
また、カーボンや上記金属の単独または複数の粉末を分散させた導伝性ペーストや導伝性インキを用いる場合は、プラスチックフィルム等の支持体上に所望のアンテナをシルクスクリーン等の印刷技術、若しくはインキジェット、転写等によりパターン形成する。

本発明の第2実施形態に係るRFIDタグ6は、図2に示すように、ICが内蔵されているICチップ装着部7と、前記ICに接続されているアンテナ8と、商品等に添付するためのストラップ9などを有している。
ICチップ装着部7は、ICチップを実装したエポキシ樹脂からなるCOB(Chip On Board)からなり、このCOBの端子にアンテナ8が接続され、更にICチップ装着部7は、複数のアンテナ8を一体化させて固定するアンテナ固定部の役目も兼ねている。

アンテナ3は、サイズの異なる2つの星形状を有するアンテナ8同士が、大きなサイズのアンテナの内側に、小さなサイズのアンテナを配置させて、ICチップ装着部7にて接合され一体化された構造を有している。

次に、本発明の第3実施形態に係るRFIDタグ10は、図3に示すように、プラスチック等の支持体11上に設けられたアンテナ12と、ICが内蔵されているICチップ装着部13と、商品等に添付するためのストラップ14を有している。
アンテナ12は、プラスチック等の支持体11上に、例えば、カーボンや上記金属の単独または複数の粉末を分散させた導伝性ペーストや導電性インキなどを用いて、シルクスクリーン等の印刷技術、若しくはインキジェット、転写等によりパターン形成することで設ける。

図3に示すように、第3実施形態に係るRFIDタグ10は、外形形状が8角形をした支持体11上に、直径のことなる円形からなるアンテナ12が3重に設けられ、3重のアンテナ12の所定部分にICチップ装着部13が備えられている。

次に、本発明の第4実施形態に係るRFIDタグ15は、図4に示すように、ハート形を有するプラスチック等の支持体16上に設けられたアンテナ17と、ICが内蔵されているICチップ装着部18と、商品等に添付するためのストラップ19を有している。
アンテナ17は、支持体16の外形形状と略同様のハート形をしていて、3重に巻かれて、上方に設けられているICチップ装着部18と接合されている。

【実施例1】
図1に示すように、直径0.3mm、長さ約70cmからなる、金粉を分散させた赤色のアクリル塗料を塗布したエナメル線からなるアンテナ3a,3bを、手毬のような球状に成形し、両端面をPhilips社製のI−Code SLII Chipを実装した2mm角のエポキシ樹脂からなるICチップ装着部2であるCOB(Chip On Board)に接続した。
続いて、その接続部を固定するため熱硬化性樹脂にて接続部を封止すると共に、アンテナ3a,3bが交差する部分を、熱硬化性樹脂にて接続してアンテナ固定部4を設けた。
更に、ストラップ5を取り付けた。
こうして出来上がったRFIDタグ1は、立体的で手毬のような球状を有し、輝きのある赤色で球状のいかにも高価で意匠性の高いタグとなった。

図5(a)に示すように、まず、厚さ0.25mmの透明ペットフィルム20と、厚さ35μmのアルミ21とをラミネートしたシートを用い、これをフォトリソグラフィー工程にてアルミ21をエッチングし、図5(b)及び図6に示すように、透明ペットフィルム20の上に線幅1mmのアルミ21からなるデザインされた渦巻状のパターンを得た。
このアルミ21のアンテナにICとの接続部を除き金色の塗料を塗布した。

続いて、図5(c)に示すように、このアンテナパターンにPhilips社製のI−Code SLII Chipを付与したCOBモジュール22を接続し、その接続部を固定するため熱硬化性樹脂にて接続部を封止した。
続いて、更に図5(d)に示すように、厚さ0.25mmの透明ペットフィルム23にてアンテナ部分全体をラミネートし、図7に示すように、アンテナの外形に沿って打ち抜き端に取り付け用のストラップ24を付けた。
こうして出来上がったRFIDタグ25は、表側が金色、裏側が銀色のいかにも高価で意匠性の高いタグとなった。

【発明の効果】
以上のように、本発明のRFIDタグは、アンテナが、装飾品としてデザイン化された外形形状を有しているので、添付する商品の商品イメージを損なったりせず、添付する商品の商品イメージや、高級感や、デザイン性等と上手く調和させ、商品毎に相応しいタグとすることができるという効果がある。
また、本発明のRFIDタグは、アンテナを、金属、または金属が被覆された材質で形成することで、簡単に種々のデザイン化された形状のアンテナを形成することができる。
更に、前記アンテナを立体形状とすることで、より高級感のあるデザインを施すことができるという効果がある。
また、本発明のRFIDタグは、アンテナを支持体上に設けられたカーボン粉末、または金属粉末を主成分とする導電性混合物により形成することで、所望のデザインを有するアンテナを形成することができるという効果がある。
