Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sleeping method for snore prevention/alleviation and its tool by adjusting sleeping posture to prevent stuffy nose said to be a cause of snoring.
SOLUTION: It is found that snoring can be prevented or reduced when sitting up from a lying face up position so as to form more than a certain angle between a back and a floor although snoring gets heaviest when lying face up as usual. To exemplify the above, keeping the sleeping posture slanted at an angle within the range of 5° to 45° with a flexible bed, a sloping platform, a mattress, a pillow or the like prevents snoring and realizes a comfortable sleep.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI

Description

【0001】

Figure 2004255138

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a sleep method for preventing or reducing snoring, and a jig used for the same. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method of adjusting a sleeping posture to prevent or reduce snoring by preventing nose clogging, which is said to be a cause of snoring, and a jig thereof.
[0002]
[Prior art]
According to Kojien, "snoring" is "noise from the nose and mouth accompanying breathing during sleep." Medically it seems to be defined as "abnormal breathing sound during sleep". The cause of snoring is that the space of the nose and throat becomes narrow during sleep, and the flow of air passing therethrough produces abnormal sounds.
Normal breathing inhales air from the nose and passes through the pharynx to the lungs. The road from the nose to the pharynx (the upper respiratory tract) has narrow areas and irregularities, and when breathing, this becomes airway resistance and generates sound naturally. This generated sound is said to be snoring.
During sleep, many people relax their jaw muscles and lower their jaws down the throat. Then, the upper airway becomes narrower, which increases respiratory resistance. If you do not open your mouth, this is enough, but a bad person like a nose will open your mouth because it is painful. When the mouth is opened, air enters, increasing the pressure inside the mouth, sinking the base of the tongue, and at the same time lowering the soft palate and uvula, narrowing the passage of air.
As described above, snoring becomes severe and breathing cannot be performed sufficiently at the same time, and the required amount of oxygen in the body is insufficient. Therefore, a sense of fatigue remains even when sleeping for rest. A phenomenon such as poor awakening appears.
Also, recent research has shown that there is an apnea during sleep during intense snoring, which leads to a deficiency of oxygen sent to the heart and brain, etc. It is said to cause dysfunction in the nervous system and respiratory system. Sudden death is said to be caused by snoring.
Conventionally, as a method of preventing snoring, according to Takenosuke Ikematsu Snoring Research Institute (homepage as of February 10, 2003), sleeping with open mouth is the main cause of snoring. Therefore, as a fundamental correction method to prevent snoring, it is decisive to sleep without opening the mouth, and the following methods have been proposed.
(1) Improve nasal breathing and smooth the passage of the nose. (2) This prevents opening and suppresses snoring.
(3) The upper and lower teeth are fixed to prevent retraction of the lower jaw and prevent opening of the mouth to prevent snoring.
According to Marukawa Hospital (homepage as of February 10, 2003), there are other methods to prevent snoring.
4. Sleeping sideways, specifically sew a tennis ball or the like on the back of the nightwear.
Put a cushion under the mattress and make a step on one side.
(5) Apply spring-like tape to widen the nasal cavity.
{Circle around (6)} Although snoring prevention methods such as the use of a special mouthpiece have been proposed, methods for preventing snoring are simple and almost none have been established.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
The main cause of snoring is thought to be the obstruction of the airway of the nose and breathing of the mouth, and the sleep state is examined by preventing the obstruction of the airway such as the nose during sleep.
Specifically, the relationship between the sleeping posture and the occurrence of snoring will be examined in various ways.
[0004]
[Means to solve the problem]
The present invention has been studied mainly on the sleeping posture during sleep. FIG. 1 schematically shows a conventional sleeping posture during normal sleep. In this case, snoring is most intense while sleeping on the back as described above. In this state of lying on the back, as shown in FIG. 2 to FIG. 5, in particular, when the inclination angle θ of the upper body is increased from the state of FIG. It was found that snoring hardly occurred at a certain angle or more.
The details of the present invention will be described below.
Table 1 shows the results of examining the relationship between the occurrence of snoring, the mood after awakening, the state of the nose clogging, and the like by changing the inclination angle θ of the upper body in the bed shown in FIG.
It is recognized that the occurrence of snoring is slightly affected when the tilt angle of the upper body during sleep is slightly around 5 °, and the occurrence of snoring becomes remarkably weak around 7.5 °. When the inclination angle is 7.5 ° or more, it can be seen that snoring can be almost prevented, the mood after awakening becomes good, and the nose clogging is also eliminated.
As described above, in the case of the present invention, as the inclination angle of the sleeping bed increases, the nose, that is, the lowering amount of the lower jaw decreases, the upper airway from the nose to the throat does not narrow, and snoring is eliminated or suppressed. It is thought to be.
As described above, the present invention can easily prevent snoring.
[0005]
Example 1
Using the bendable bed shown in FIG. 2, the relationship between the inclination angle of sleeping and the occurrence of snoring was investigated. Table 1 shows the results. Tests were performed between 0 ° and 60 ° tilt angles as described above. It is recognized that snoring tends to be reduced when the inclination angle is around 5 °, and the tendency becomes remarkable when the inclination angle is around 7.5 °. However, when the inclination angle exceeds 45 °, snoring disappears, but it is not desirable as a sleep in terms of rest. Therefore, it can be said that an appropriate range of the inclination angle is 5 ° to 45 °.
Figure 2004255138
Hereinafter, the legends of the execution results are the same as those in Table 1.
[0006]
Example 2
As shown in FIG. 1, the test was carried out using a stand jig having a tilt angle of 20 ° under the mattress. Table 2 shows the results.
Figure 2004255138
[0007]
Example 3
The test was performed using a pillow with an inclined angle shown in FIG. Table 3 shows the test results when pillows with pillow inclination angles of 10 ° and 30 ° were used.
Figure 2004255138
It is recognized that snoring can be prevented by using a pillow with an inclined angle, and the feeling after awakening is also improved.
[0008]
Example 4
The test was performed using a pillow as shown in FIG. The inclination angle in that case was tested when the average angle of the actual sleeping posture was in the range of 0 to 35 °. Also in this case, it has been found that the occurrence of snoring can be effectively reduced at an inclination angle of 5 ° or more, and the occurrence of snoring can be prevented at an inclination angle of 7.5 ° or more. Table 4 shows the detailed test results.

【The invention's effect】
As described above, the present invention has been found to be able to easily reduce or prevent snoring by sleeping with a slope when sleeping, and it is considered to be significant. As mentioned earlier, snoring often accompanies an apnea, and it is said that the patient may gradually become ill and may have many illnesses. It can be said that the invention is significant.
