Description

【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a growth improving agent having good palatability, which is fed to livestock.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, it is known to raise livestock and improve productivity by using a feed to which an organic acid is added. On the other hand, among the organic acids, particularly when formic acid is used, the palatability is poor, so that a slight positive effect is observed in the case of a very small amount of the compounding agent. It is also known to get worse.
As a method for improving such palatability of formic acid, a productivity enhancer for young growing pigs and chickens comprising calcium formate or magnesium formate has been proposed (see Patent Document 1).
However, even this productivity enhancer has not been satisfactory.
[0003]
[Patent Document 1]
JP-A-63-52846
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Thus, the present inventors have conducted various studies on a growth improving agent having good palatability and excellent growth effect using formic acid having low palatability, and as a result, the present invention has been completed.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
That is, the present invention relates to a livestock growth improving agent containing formic acid and lactic acid.
[0006]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
The compounding ratio of formic acid and lactic acid, which are the active ingredients of the growth improving agent of the present invention, is such that lactic acid is mixed in a range of 0.1 to 100 (weight ratio), particularly 0.3 to 10 (weight ratio) with respect to 1 of formic acid. Is preferred. Moreover, the growth improving agent of the present invention further improves palatability by using propionic acid in combination with formic acid and lactic acid. The mixing ratio of the propionic acid is not particularly limited, but is preferably in the range of 0.1 to 5 (weight ratio) with respect to 1 of formic acid.
Further, the growth improving agent of the present invention may optionally contain other organic acids such as citric acid, fumaric acid, butyric acid, malic acid and acetic acid.
When preparing the growth improving agent of the present invention, an excipient such as silicic acid can be used as appropriate.
[0007]
Examples of the method of feeding the growth improving agent of the present invention to livestock include a method of feeding the solution as a solution, and a method of mixing and feeding a powdery growth improving agent with feed, and the constant feeding by drinking water is particularly preferable. Domestic animals to be fed include pigs, cows, chickens and the like.
[0008]
The amount of the growth improving agent of the present invention to be fed is preferably in the range of 0.05 to 2% by weight, particularly 0.1 to 1% by weight as the total amount of formic acid and lactic acid.
[0009]
【Example】
Next, the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to Examples, but the present invention is not limited to the following Examples.
[0010]
Example 1
A growth improving agent was prepared by uniformly mixing 75.0 parts by weight of formic acid and 25.0 parts by weight of lactic acid.
[0011]
Example 2
25.0 parts by weight of formic acid and 75.0 parts by weight of lactic acid were uniformly mixed to prepare a growth improving agent.
[0012]
Example 3
A growth improving agent was prepared by uniformly mixing 16.7 parts by weight of formic acid, 66.6 parts by weight of lactic acid, and 16.7 parts by weight of propionic acid.
[0013]
Next, a test was conducted on the palatability of the growth improving agent of the present invention.
Test example 1
Eight pigs (LW species, weight 7 kg) were set up as one section, and these pigs were used as a basic feed for artificial milk early-stage feed ("Herb Soft" manufactured by Nissin Feed Co., Ltd.) and the growth improvement of Examples 1-3 Drinking water adjusted so that the concentration as the total amount of the organic acid was 0.2% using the agent was continuously supplied for 7 days, and the amount of drinking water was examined. For comparison, a case where only tap water or formic acid aqueous solution (concentration: 0.2%) is used as drinking water is shown as a control example. Table 1 shows the test results.
[0014]
[Table 1]
Figure 2004201613
[0015]
Test example 2
Ten chickens (layers) were provided as one section, and these chickens were fed a feed for a drug-free layer shown in Table 2 as a basic feed and bred for 4 weeks immediately after hatching. Meanwhile, three weeks after the start of the test, Salmonella enteritidis (SE) (Salmonella Enteritidis) was orally administered at 10 7 CFU per bird. During this test period, the growth improving agent prepared in Example 3 was dissolved in drinking water to adjust the concentration to 0.2%, and the drinking water was fed without interruption.
For comparison, only drinking water was given, and the other test results were the same as those described above.
After breeding for 4 weeks, the animals were dissected and collected, and the detection rate of SE in the liver and cecum and the number of SE bacteria in cecal contents were examined.
Next, the test results are shown in Table 3.

[0019]
Example 5
37.5 parts by weight of formic acid and 12.5 parts by weight of lactic acid were dissolved in 50.0 parts by weight of water to prepare a liquid growth improving agent. This liquid growth improving agent was dissolved in drinking water to adjust to 0.2% and 0.4% drinking water (concentration as the total amount of formic acid and lactic acid).
[0020]

The liquid growth improving agent was added to water to prepare drinking water having a concentration of 0.2% and 0.4% (concentration as a total amount of formic acid, lactic acid and propionic acid).
[0021]
Next, a breeding test of pigs was performed using the growth improving agents prepared in Examples 4 to 6.
[0022]
