Abstract

(57)【要約】 【目的】 超音波振動子15は、発信回路20の作用で
ハンマー14によって包材10に振動を加え、この振動
によって包材を発熱溶着するが、該包材には材質むら及
び厚みの変化があるので、平均的強度で包材を溶着でき
ない欠点がある。 【構成】 そこでセンサー30によって赤外線測定した
包材10の表面温度を制御機22に送信し、コントロー
ラ23から可変電圧装置25に操作信号を送る。温度フ
イードバックによって電圧可変装置25は包材10の発
熱を一定化するようにハンマー14の振幅をコントロー
ルする。

【発明の詳細な説明】
【0001】
【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は、振動子や回路の共
振を利用する超音波振動によって、包装用材料の重なり
部分を溶着するシール手段であって、包材の厚みや材質
の変化に応じて、シール温度をコントロルする方法及び
装置に関する。
【0002】
【発明が解決しょうとする課題】超音波溶着しようとす
る包材の厚みや材質が変ると、その厚みや材質に見合っ
た熱発生がなければ適正な溶着結果は得られないので、
一般的な超音波シール装置は前記厚みや材質の変化に対
応するため、周波数を変化させて発生温度を手動調整す
る手段を備える。しかしミクロ的観点からすると包材の
厚みは加工誤差により全体が均等ではなく、また包材の
材質にも局部的むらがあるので、この一定速度で移動す
る包材の、厚みや材質むらに対して前記の手動温度調整
装置を適正に操ることは物理的に不可能であり、結果的
に包材に溶着むらのでる難点がある。

【その解決手段】そこで本発明は、包材を適正温度で溶
着する方法として、相対移動する包材とシールハンマー
とからなり、前記シールハンマーを作動させ該シールハ
ンマーを介して包材に衝撃を加える超音波振動子と、前
記超音波振動子に発振電力を印加する電機回路とからな
る超音波シール手段において、前記シールハンマー附近
で該シールハンマーの連続衝撃で発熱する包材の溶着温
度を非接触型温度センサーでもつて測定すると共に、前
記温度センサーから制御機に次々入力される測定温度に
対応する出力信号を、前記電機回路に介設した電圧可変
装置に送信し、該電圧可変装置でもつて、前記包材の加
熱温度を平均化するごとく前記可動ハンマーの振幅を前
記測定温度値に対応してコントロールするごとく構成す
る。
【0004】また前記方法を実施する装置は、相対移動
する包材とシールハンマーとからなり、前記シールハン
マーを作動させ該シールハンマーを介して包材に衝撃を
加える超音波振動子と、前記超音波振動子に発振電力を
印加する電機回路とからなる超音波シール手段におい
て、前記シールハンマー附近で該シールハンマーの連続
衝撃で発熱する包材の溶着温度を測定する非接触型温度
センサーと、前記温度センサーによって測定される温度
値に対応する制御用出力信号を連続的に算出する制御機
と、前記制御機からの出力信号を前記電機回路に介設し
た電圧可変装置に送信し且つ該電圧可変装置でもつて前
記可動ハンマーの振幅を、前記包材の加熱温度が平均化
するごとくコントロールする手段とにより構成する。
【0005】従来構成によれば、可動ハンマーの振幅が
一定である場合、包材の厚みが変化すると、包材に対す
る衝撃力も変化するから、発生温度に変化が現れるし、
また包材の材質むらがあると、そのむらに応じて発生温
度が変化して平均強度で包材を溶着できない。しかしな
がら上記構成によれば、包材の発生温度を監視し該発生
温度が平均化するごとく可動ハンマーの振幅をコントロ
ールする。

【発明の実施形態】図1において例えばプラスチック製
の包材10は、ベース11上に固定した金床12上に沿
って矢印13の方向に連続移動するので、前記包材と金
床とは相対移動の関係にある。前記金床12の上域に配
置した可動ハンマー14は超音波振動子15の作用によ
って上下に振動し包材10に衝撃を加える結果、2枚重
ねの包材10は内部から発生する熱によって溶着する。
なお前記の超音波振動子15としては、例えば図2のご
とく巻線50を電源回路51に接続する磁歪型振動子を
使用する。
【0007】前記の超音波振動子15を発振させる回路
20に新しさはなく、例えば電源21に連結した整流平
滑回路16及び制御電圧17、また発信回路18及び制
御回路19などにより形成するもので、ハンマー14は
一定の周波数及び振幅でもって包材10に衝撃を加える
結果、2枚重ねの包材での摩擦熱によって該包材は溶着
する。この場合、インプット装置21でもって制御機2
2に指示情報を入力すると、前記制御機に具わるコント
ローラ23から発する信号24でもって電圧可変装置2
5は操作され、調整された電流値によってハンマー14
の振幅がコントロールされる。つまり包材10での発熱
温度を150℃に設定する場合、該包材の厚み及び材種
の情報をインプット装置21から制御機22に入力する
と、前記温度値に対応するように制御機はハンマー14
の振幅値を設定変更する。
【0008】新しい制御として包材10の移動方向に向
け、ハンマー14の後方コーナに向けて赤外線感熱式な
ど非接触式の温度センサー30を設置すると共に、前記
センサー30による受熱信号を制御機22を通して前記
可変電圧装置25に送信するごとく構成する。
【0009】しかして相対移動しながらハンマー14に
よる振動によって発熱する包材の厚みの変化によって、
該包材の発熱温度も変化する。このような場合、図3の
ごとく振動熱発生直後の包材10の表面温度を測定する
センサー30は、その測定値を連続して制御機に送信す
る結果、該制御機は演算手段31及びコントローラ23
を通して可変電圧装置25に補正信号32を連続して返
信するので、ハンマー14の振幅は包材の厚みの変化に
応じて補正され、包材の発生温度を一定にする。なおそ
れは包材の材質が変化しても同じである。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】 相対移動する包材とシールハンマーとか
    らなり、前記シールハンマーを作動させ該シールハンマ
    ーを介して包材に衝撃を加える超音波振動子と、前記超
    音波振動子に発振電力を印加する電機回路とからなる超
    音波シール手段において、前記シールハンマー附近で該
    シールハンマーの連続衝撃で発熱する包材の溶着温度を
    非接触型温度センサーでもつて測定すると共に、前記温
    度センサーから制御機に次々入力される測定温度に対応
    する出力信号を、前記電機回路に介設した電圧可変装置
    に送信し、該電圧可変装置でもつて、前記包材の加熱温
    度を平均化するごとく前記可動ハンマーの振幅を前記測
    定温度値に対応してコントロールする方法。
  2. 【請求項2】 相対移動する包材とシールハンマーとか
    らなり、前記シールハンマーを作動させ該シールハンマ

    シールハンマーの連続衝撃で発熱する包材の溶着温度を
    測定する非接触型温度センサーと、前記温度センサーに
    よって測定される温度値に対応する制御用出力信号を連
    続的に算出する制御機と、前記制御機からの出力信号を
    前記電機回路に介設した電圧可変装置に送信し且つ該電
    圧可変装置でもつて前記可動ハンマーの振幅を、前記包
    材の加熱温度が平均化するごとくコントロールする手段
    とからなる装置。
