Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.再書込可能型の記録担体にトラックパターンにて情報ブロックを書き込むべ く、前記記録担体のエリアに電磁放射ビームにより前記情報ブロックを表すマー クを書き込む書込ユニットと、前記書込ユニットを前記記録担体のトラック構造 に基づいて位置決めする位置決め手段とが設けられ、前記トラック構造が前記ト ラックパターンを有するものとした書込装置において、 情報ブロックを書き込むために使用されている前記記録担体のエリアを検出す る第1検出手段と、 前記使用されているエリアに隣接する未書込境界エリアを検出する第2検出手 段と、 前記未書込境界エリアにダミー情報を書き込む初期化手段と、 を有することを特徴とする書込装置。 2.請求項1に記載の装置において、前記第1検出手段は、前記使用されている エリアを、当該装置により受信された書込指令に基づいて検出するように構成さ れていることを特徴とする装置。 3.請求項1又は2に記載の装置において、前記第1検出手段は、前記使用され ているエリアを、前記記録担体の使用情報に基づいて検出するように構成されて いることを特徴とする装置。 4.請求項1、2又は3に記載の装置において、前記第2検出手段は、前記未書 込境界エリアを、前記記録担体のステータス情報に基づいて検出するように構成 され、前記ステータス情報は、エリアの書込状態を示すことを特徴とする装置。 5.請求項1、2、3又は4に記載の装置において、前記初期化手段は、前記使 用されているエリアの直前の前記未書込境界エリアに書込処理を施すように構成 されていることを特徴とする装置。 6.請求項5に記載の装置において、前記初期化手段は、前記使用されているエ リアの直後の前記未書込境界エリアに書込処理を施すように構成されていること を特徴とする装置。 7.請求項5又は6に記載の装置において、前記初期化手段は、所定の幅を有す る帯状エリアに書込処理を施すように構成されていることを特徴とする装置。 8.請求項1ないし7のうちいずれか1つに記載の装置において、前記初期化手 段は、書込指令の発生前の時点で書込処理を施すように構成されていることを特 徴とする装置。 9.請求項1ないし8のうちいずれか1つに記載の装置において、前記初期化手 段は、書込指令の発生後の時点で書込処理を施すように構成され、前記時点は、 動作状況に基づいて決定されることを特徴とする装置。 10.請求項9に記載の装置において、前記動作状況は、新たな書込指令の欠如 及び/又は前記記録担体の搬出指令の受信を有することを特徴とする装置。 11.請求項1ないし10のうちいずれか1つに記載の装置において、前記初期 化手段は、前記記録担体のエリアの未書込又は書込済み状態についてのステータ ス情報を検出するステータス検出手段が設けられていることを特徴とする装置。 12.請求項1に記載の装置において、前記ダミー情報は、N個のダミー情報ブ ロックとして構成され、Nは、1以上であり、前記情報ブロックには位置情報が 設けられていることを特徴とする装置。 13.請求項4に記載の装置に用いられる記録担体において、前記記録担体は、 前記記録担体のエリアの未書込または書込済み状態についてのステータス情報が 設けられ、このステータス情報は、所定の様式で再生可能であることを特徴とす る記録担体。 14.情報ブロックをトラックパターンにて再書込可能型の記録担体に書き込む べく、前記情報ブロックを表すマークを前記記録担体の各エリアに書込ユニット 及び電磁放射ビームにより書き込み、前記書込ユニットを前記トラックパターン を示すトラック構造に基づいて位置決めする書込方法において、 情報ブロックを書き込むために、使用されている前記記録担体のエリアを検出 し、 前記使用されているエリアに隣接している未書込境界エリアを検出し、 前記未書込境界エリアにダミー情報ブロックを書き込む、 ことを特徴とする書込方法。 15.記録担体のトラックパターンの光学的読取可能なマークにより表される情 報ブロックを読み取る読取手段が設けられ、電磁放射ビームにより前記マークを 読み取る読取ユニットと前記マークに基づいて前記読取ユニットを位置決めする 位置決め手段とが設けられた読取装置において、マークが書き込まれたエリアを 検索する検索手段が設けられていることを特徴とする読取装置。 16.請求項15に記載の読取装置において、前記情報ブロックは、前記記録担 体に読取方向に沿って配列され、前記検索手段は、読み取るべき情報ブロックの 前方位置へのジャンプ後に、前記読取ユニットを前記読取方向に変位させるよう 構成されていることを特徴とする読取装置。 17.請求項16に記載の読取装置において、前記検索手段は、前記読取ユニッ トを前記読取方向に最大で所定距離だけ変位させ、その後に前記ユニットを前記 読取方向とは逆の方向に変位させるよう構成されていることを特徴とする読取装 置。 18.請求項15に記載の読取装置において、前記検索手段は、前記記録担体の 前記トラックパターンにおける実際の平均トラックピッチを測定するよう構成さ れ、前記位置決め手段は、前記実際の平均トラックピッチに基づいて位置決めす るよう構成されていることを特徴とする読取装置。 19.請求項15に記載の読取装置において、前記検索手段は、前記トラックパ ターンの未書込エリアにおけるトラックに対する前記ビームのトラック交差を検 出する手段を有し、前記位置決め手段は、この検出されたトラック交差に基づい て位置決めをするよう構成されていることを特徴とする読取装置。
