Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide excellent strength and moisture resistance by placing a moisture resistant layer comprising a polyolefine-based resin sandwiched between two sheets of paper. SOLUTION: Moisture resistant layers 10 are formed on both the surfaces of the main body 1 of a wood-based board. As the main body of board, particle board or the like is used. The moisture resistant layer 10 is a laminated matter having a sheet 3 of a polyolefine-based resin sandwiched between two sheets of paper and its water vapor transmission resistance is desired to be not more than 100 g/m2.24 h. For paper 2, Kraft paper having rough surface is more suited because it is not slippery so that workability is good. As sheet 2 consisting of the polyolefin-based resin, other substances such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polybutene-1, polyisobutylene, poly 4-methy-1 pentene, an ethylene/ vinyl acetate copolymer or the like can be used adequately. Thus, a sufficient strength, improved moisture resistance and better dimensional stability can be achieved.

2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, major producers of southern timber have been tightening restrictions on the cutting of timber in order to halt the destruction of tropical rainforests, which has led to instability in the price and supply of plywood. There is an increasing need to substitute for particle board, wood fiber board and the like. However, such wood-based core boards are inferior in various properties, such as strength, dimensional stability, and water resistance, as compared with plywood or the like, so that the use range of the boards is limited. Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to examples used as architectural members. For example, in recent years, these wood-based core boards have been used for floors laid on floor slabs of gymnasiums and the like.
However, when various events are held in the gymnasium, an extremely heavy object may be placed on the floor. Naturally, a floor having sufficient strength and rigidity is required for such a load. Therefore, strength and rigidity have been obtained by attaching plywood to both sides of a wooden core board or the like.

FIG. 3 shows a base panel in which a moisture-resistant layer 10 is formed on the lower surface of the board body 1, and these base panels are spaced apart from the floor slab 20 by supporting legs 5 and supporting plates 6. The following is an example of support. The base panels are placed on the support plate 6 with a gap therebetween. At the lower end of the support leg 5, a cushioning material 7 such as rubber is provided, and the cushioning material 7 is grounded to the floor slab 20. A screw is cut on the outer periphery of the support leg 5, and this screw portion is screwed into the level adjusting nut 8. The nut 8 is fixed to the support plate 6, is exposed from the upper end opening of the nut 8, and is formed with a groove 5A at the upper end of the support leg 5 from which the face is seen through the gap between the base panels. The level of the base panel can be adjusted by inserting a screwdriver and rotating the support leg 5 in either direction. Further, the support plate 6 may be formed of a particle board, a plywood or a plastic material, and a rubber sheet or an adhesive sheet may be pasted on an upper surface thereof, that is, a surface in contact with the base panel. Further, the above-described moisture-resistant layer 10 can be provided on the lower surface of the support plate 6. Further, in the case of a low floor structure, the support leg 5 itself can be made of the cushioning material 7, that is, the entire support leg 5 can be formed of rubber or the like.
