Abstract

The object of the present invention is to provide a controller for an air conditioner that, in consonance with detected room temperatures, can automatically and constantly ensure the selection of an optimal air flow rate, even if a temperature sensor that is positioned at a different location is selected when the air flow rate of the indoor blower is to be automatically controlled. the controller for an air conditioner comprises: air flow rate control means for selecting, in consonance with a signal, an air flow rate for a blower from among a plurality of air flow rate levels; first signal generation means for automatically altering a signal , in consonance with a difference between a set temperature and a room temperature that is detected by the first temperature sensor, that is transmitted to the air flow rate control means; second signal generation means for automatically altering a signal, in consonance with a difference between a set temperature and a room temperature that is detected by the second temperature sensor, that is transmitted to the air flow rate control means; and selection means for, in consonance with a result obtained by comparing the temperature that Is detected by the first temperature sensor with the temperature that is detected by the second temperature sensor, validating either the first signal generation means or the second signal generation means, the temperatures being used to control the compressor.
