Abstract

A motor generator 10 is described, comprising an alternating motor with free piston and dual action 12, coupled directly to a linear electric generator 14, 16. Also described is an electric generator group of high efficiency, comprising two such motor generators, one with internal combustion engine 10 and one with steam engine, the thermal energy produced by the first being utilised to generate steam to supply the second. The invention can advantageously be used in hybrid traction vehicles. <IMAGE>
