Abstract

Viene descritto un procedimento per il trattamento elettrochimico dei sali dell'acido para-nitrotoluen-2-solfonico in condizioni ossidanti per formare l'acido 4, 4'-dinitrostilben-2, 2'-disolfonico o i suoi sali. Il procedimento fornisce rese soddisfacenti del composto stilbenico mentre permette un riciclaggio sostanziale dei materiali di reazione. Si ottengono vantaggi sostanziali quando sì impiega l'idrossido di litio nel mezzo di reazione, con l'inclusione del recupero di un prodotto di elevata purezza, e del recupero migliorato e del riciclaggio del litio al procedimento.
