Abstract

Metal pipe having a protective coating, of, e.g. resin, is protected against damage during handling etc., by a cover layer 0.5-5.0mm. thick of filled fibre or flake contg. cementitious material. The filler, which may be sand, comprises 0-3.5 pts. wt./pt. cementitious material, the polymer solids comprise 0.05-0.55 pts. wt./pt. cementitious material and the fibre or flake comprises 0-0.20 pts. wt./pt. cementitious material. Good protection of the pipe during storage and installation.
