Abstract

A plant for the treatment of waste materials and refuse in general comprising a loading device (3,4,5) for feeding the waste material into a pre-combustion furnace (6), a second furnace (19) where gasses from the first furnace complete their combustion, making available thermal energy which may be used for the production of lime or for domestic and industrial uses, through heat exchangers in the second furnace. An operational programmer (27) is adapted to receiving signals relevant to the values of certain parameters such as; temperatures of the two furnaces, composition of the chimney exhaust gasses, with the aim of intervening on other parameters, such as: the air feeding the combustion in the first and second furnaces, automated feeding of the waste materials and refuse into the first furnace, in order to restore plant operation to optimal conditions.
