Abstract

Compsns. contg. digoxin (I) soln. in a soluble capsule coating are new. The capsule is pref. soluble in the upper part of the mammalian gastro-intestinal tract, and is suitably of soft gelatin contg. \-1 of plasticisers, preservatives dyes and opacifiers, Dosage is esp. 0.05-0.4 mg (I) per unit. (I) is used in treatment of cardiac insufficiency. (I) is taken up more rapidly and uniformly than when administered by tablets, so the risk of overdosing is reduced. The dose required is only 80% of that needed in tablet form.
