Abstract
An oil cooler has a housing through which water is conducted, and in the housing a cooling block made from disc-shaped flat tubes through the interior of which the oil to be cooled is conducted. Partitioning (screening, bulkheading) parts directed at right angles to the direction of flow of the cooling medium and the plane of the flat tubes are arranged in the respective lateral gap between the longitudinal side of the cooling block and the adjacent housing wall. The partitioning parts are formed from webs which are in one piece with the flat tubes and are extended from a shell of the respective flat tube as far as the flat tube next in the stack and, moreover, are bent off to the side and bear against the inside of the adjacent housing wall, preferably in an elastic fashion. The effect of the webs is to reduce a bypass on the water side in the gap, and to permit manufacturing tolerances to be compensated, and this without additional separate parts.
