Abstract
A thermoplastic resin containing methane linkages and pendant epoxy gps. is produced by reacting an epoxy resin containing more than 1 OH gp. with a diol end-capped with a polyisocyanate, or alternatively with a difunctional prim. alcohol and a diisocyanate in the presence of 0.1-5 wt.% of a urethane-forming catalyst. The compsn. is used as an adhesive, sealant or coating compsn. pref. with a heat reactive epoxy curing agent, which can be thermoset at 100-300 deg.C. (provisional basic previously advised in Week 8411).
