Abstract

The system uses a laser to form interference images of a system of marker characters on the test object has an interference image recording system designed to increase the accuracy whilst ensuring a high degree of resolution. A modulater (3) which shifts the frequency of the laser light is placed between the laser (2) and the optical system (4) which forms the light beams used to form the interference image. The recording system contains a photoreceiver block (8) with two photodetectors (22,23). One photodetector (22) is optically connected to a first marker (28) character and the other to a second marker character (19). The outputs of the photodetectors are connected to an electronic phase measurement instrument (9). A third photodetector and marker are arranged so that the phase difference variation of the photodetector output signals does not exceed 360 degrees over the entire range of deformation measurement.
