Abstract

The oxazolinone derivs. of formulae (I) and (VII) are new (Ar is 2,6-dimethylphenyl). (I) is made by reacting Ar-hydrazine and a dialkoxyethyl chloroformate, treatment of the arylcarbazate prod. with methoxyacetyl halide and acid cyclisation of the prod. (directly or via. (VII)). (I) is useful as a fungicide for use in plant protection. It can be used for prevention or cure and has good systemic activity. It is also an intermediate for the corresp. oxazolidine deriv. and (VII) is an intermediate for (I).
