Abstract

Vehicle electric steering servo comprises an electric motor for acting on the control organ and an electric element responding to a moment applied to the steering wheel. The latter element is used to control the action of the electric motor via a current network. To provide a mechanically simple system that comprises device for responding to rotation of the steering wheel, the electric element comprises an extensometer with a resistance. This is mounted on the wheel column (2') coupled to the column (2) in axial alignment.
