Abstract

The magnetic tape reel comprises two side discs which are fitted to a central core (2). The latter has two coaxial rims (8, 10) joined by a web (12), with an intermediate annular edge (14, 16) on each side of it. Each side disc (4) has two coaxial annular edges (26, 28) around a central opening, on its inside face. The outer annular edge (28) of each side disc (4) rests against the inside of the outer rim (10) of the core (2). The inner annular edge (26) of each side disc (4) rests against the outside of the respective annular edge (14, 16) formed in the core (2), so that the two side discs (4) support the outer rim (10) of the core (2) and prevent radial flexure.
