Abstract

The title cpds. of formula (I): (where R is benzyl or phenethyl) are obtd. by redn. of cpds. of formula (II), which are themselves prepd. by reaction of the corresp. 1-aralkyl-4-piperidones (III) with nitromethane. Yields of >90% are obtd. (III) is converted to (II) by reaction with nitromethane is absolute C2H5OH at room temp. (II) is reduced with Zn in a mineral acide, e.g. HCl or H2SO4 in alcoholic medium, and (I) is obtd. in the form of an addn. cpd. of formula (I). ZnCl2.2HCl (II) are new cpds.
