Abstract
This disclosure relates generally to smart home networks and more particularly to methods and systems for evolving an adaptive smart home network. In one embodiment, a method for evolving a smart home network comprising a plurality of devices is disclosed. The method incudes detecting a change in at least one property associated with the smart home network. The method further includes determining a current network topology for the plurality of devices in response to detecting the change. The current network topology includes weighted information related to the at least one property. Thereafter, the method includes identifying a subset of devices from within the plurality of devices based on the current network topology to offset the change in the at least one property. The subset of devices is adapted to respond to an event that the smart home network was configured to mitigate in absence of the change. Figure 2
