Abstract

The present invention addresses the issue of uniform thickness of an inner liner by forming a flange section on a ribbon type strip. The inner liner strip of the present invention is a thermoplastic elastomer composition strip for forming a tire inner liner having a shape similar to the finished cross sectional shape of the inner liner strip obtained by being wound spirally over a cylindrical drum; wherein the strip is configured of a layered body of (A) a first layer comprising a thermoplastic elastomer composition containing 0.1 to 50 parts by weight of organic treatment clay material for each 100 parts by weight of a styrene isobutylene styrene tri block copolymer and (B) a second layer comprising a thermoplastic elastomer composition containing at least one of a styrene isoprene styrene tri block copolymer and a styrene isobutyl range block copolymer; and the strip has a flange section disposed on the strip main body and on both sides thereof the thickness (T1) of the strip main body being 0.05 to 1.0 mm the thickness (T2) of the flange section being less than the thickness (T1) of the strip main body and the width (W2) of the flange section being 0.5 to 5.0 mm.
