Abstract
1424204 Filled amino-formaldehyde resin compositions BRITISH INDUSTRIAL PLASTICS Ltd 30 April 1973 [4 May 1972] 20815/72 Headings C3C and C3R A thermosetting moulding composition comprises an uncured amino-formaldehyde resin having dispersed therein a filler which comprises at least in part, a particulate cured disintegrated amino-formaldehyde resin foam material having an absorbency of less than 2.0 ml. of water/gm. In the examples a cured urea-formaldehyde foam was ball milled and then blended with either an uncured spray dried melamine- or urea - formaldehyde resin, optionally α-cellulose, and polyvinylacetate, phthalic anhydride, glycerol monostearate, zinc oxide, hexamethylene and/or polypropylene glycol; or alternatively with an urea-formaldehyde resin syrup, α-cellulose, hexamethylene tetramine, zinc stearate, monocresylglyceryl ether, barium sulphate and calcium hydroxide. Both the resultant blends were then granulated.
