Abstract
1394890 Pesticidal dithiophosphoric acid esters CIBA-GEIGY AG 22 Dec 1972 [23 Dec 1971 22 Nov 1972] 59512/72 Heading C2P Novel compounds of Formula I where R 1 is n- or i-propyl or n-, i- or sec-butyl and R 2 is methyl or ethyl may be prepared by reacting a compound of Formula II where Y is H, alkali metal, ammonium or C 1-5 alkylammonium, in the presence of an acidbinding agent when Y is H, with N-chloromethyl benzazimide. The compounds of Formula I have insecticidal, and acaricidal, properties and may be used as the active ingredients in conventional pesticidal compositions. The invention also comprises a compound of Formula I in a container bearing instructions for the use of the compound as a pesticide.

Claims (15)
1. Compounds of the formula I wherein R^ represents a methyl or ethyl group and R2 represents an n-propyl, i-propyl, n-butyl, i-butyl or sec.butyl group.
2. Compounds according to claim 1 wherein R2 represents an n-propyl, i-propyl, n-butyl or sec-butyl group. -
3. Compounds according to claim 1 wherein R^ represents an ethyl group.
4. Compounds according to claim 2 wherein R^ represents an ethyl group.

9. A solid pesticidal composition comprising (i) a compound according to any one of claims 1, 3 and 7 (ii) a solid extender and optionally (iii) a surfactant. 41066-2.
10. A liquid pesticidal composition comprising (i) a compound according to any one of the claims 1, 3 and (ii) a liquid diluent and (iii) a surfactant,
11. A method of combatting pests of the class Insecta or of the oder Acarina at a locus, which comprises applying to said locus a compound as claimed in any one of claims 1, 3 and 7.
12. A method according to claim 11 wherein the locus comprises agricultural or horticultural crops, plants or produce.
13. A method according to claim 11 or claim 12 wherein the pests are insects of the species Spodoptera littoralis or Heliothis virescens.
14. A solid pesticidal composition comprising (i) a compound according to any one of claims 2, 4, 5, 6 or 8 (ii) a solid extender and optionally (iii) a surfactant.
15. A liquid pesticidal composition comprising (i) a compound according to any one of claims 2, 4, 5, 6 or 8 (ii) a solid extender and optionally (iii) a surfactant.
