Abstract

In the case of a device for removal of injection needles, a housing (1) has an opening (14), in which a chuck (2) for the needles (11) is arranged. The chuck (2) is connected to a drive (3) for opening and closing of the chuck (2). The housing (1) is provided with a drawer (5) for receiving a catching container (6), into which the opening (14) enters.

Description

HOECHST AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT HOE 91/F 136 DPh.HS/Le Specification Arrangement for the disposal of injection cannulas Injection cannulas are removed manually from the syringe 5 body or the syringe frame and disposed of. Puncture injuries and possible associated infections cannot be avoided in this connection.
The aim of the invention is to remedy this problem. The invention achieves the aim by means of an arrangement in which a housing has an opening in which a chuck for the cannulas is arranged, which chuck is connected to a drive mechanism for opening and closing the chuck, and the housing is provided with a drawer for receiving a collecting container into which the opening opens.
The drive mechanism can comprise a torque-limited electric motor and the chuck can be designed as a switch for the current supply of the electric motor. Alternatively, the opening can be provided with such a switch. The housing can be provided with a viewing window and a suction base, and the collecting container can be closed with a lid.
The invention is illustrated in greater detail hereinbelow with reference to the figures, which show only an exemplary embodiment.
Figure 1 shows a cutaway side view of the arrangement, and Figure 2 shows the collecting container.
The arrangement comprises a housing 1, which is provided with an opening 14. Arranged in the opening 14 is a chuck 2 for the cannulas 11 and connection piece 10. Connected to the chuck 2 is a drive mechanism 3 for - 2 opening and closing the chuck 2. The drive mechanism can comprise a torque-limited electric motor. It is possible to use, as the switch for such a motor, a light barrier arranged in the opening 14 or in the chuck 2 or a mechanical switch 15 arranged in the opening 14. The switches are activated by the syringe body 9 being inserted or removed. By means of the rotational movement of the chuck 2, the injection cannula 11 is twisted out from the syringe body 9 and drops into the collecting container 6. The individual components are surrounded by the housing 1, and it is possible to check, through a viewing window 4, to what extent the collecting container 6 is filled with injection cannulas 11. The arrangement has a drawer 5 by means of which the collect15 ing container 6 can be exchanged. According to Figure 2, the collecting container 6 filled with injection cannulas 11 is closed with a lid 12. The contents for disposal can be noted on a label 13. The arrangement can be secured on an appropriate surface by means of a suction base 7 and securing lever 8.
