Abstract

1432953 Preserving silage PAN BRITANNICA INDUSTRIES Ltd 4 July 1973 [5 July 1972 8 Sept 1972 18 June 1973] 28854/73 31501/72 and 41749/72 Heading A1F Silage is preserved by adding paraformaldehyde to green fodder, preferably at a concentration of 0.5-20 lb/ton of fodder. Additives include sodium nitrite, calcium formate, sugar, cereal meal, magnesite, trace elements and sodium chloride. The weight ratio of sodium nitrite to paraformaldehyde is from 1:1 to 1:50.
