Abstract
1421661 Fermentation tank BRASSERIES KRONENBOURG 3 Jan 1973 [11 Jan 1972] 319/73 Heading C6E [Also in Division F4] A cylindrical tank 1, with domed top and conical bottom, has heating or cooling stages 5, each of which comprises a plurality of pockets which are inter-connected so that heating or cooling fluid can be passed through at least two of the pockets in series. The tank may contain a central tube 26 which tube contains a plurality of pipes which communicate with pipes 32 and 33 for taking samples or for supplying; cleaning fluid to the tank. The dome may be provided with pipes 20 for supplying or drawing off wort, gas inlet 23 and with pipes of cleaning fluid Figs. 8, 9, 10 (not shown) comprising a circular pipe located above the dome, having radially outwardly and inwardly extending branches which are bent and passed through the dome parallel to the main body, the ends being provided with spray heads. Heating or cooling pockets 5 may each have upper and lower apertures, 6 and 7, the lower aperture of one pocket being connected to the upper of the next.
