Abstract
1313819 Electric cables INDUSTRIE PIRELLI SpA 28 Oct 1971 [29 Oct 1970] 50151/71 Heading H1A An impregnated electric cable comprises one or more solid conductors each having an outer surface which is locally formed to define a plurality of alternating convexities and concavities, e.g. as at 10 and 9. The or each conductor is preferably of aluminium and may be circular or sector-shaped in cross-section; the concavities may form longitudinal or helical grooves. A screen, e.g. of carbon-loaded paper as at 11, 12, 13 may be inserted between each conductor and its insulation 14, 15, 16 of, e.g. impregnated paper. Paper packing strips 17, 18, 19, paper insulation 20, a sheath 21 of lead or aluminium, and a thermoplastic or elastomeric sheath 22 are also provided.
