Abstract
1290369 Coating compositions FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 16 Sept 1969 [16 Sept 1968] 45630/69 Heading C3P [Also in Division D2] A composition for clay-coated paper for use with a colour-reactive copying paper (see Division D2) is made by adding an emulsion in water of a hydrophobic, organic material that is liquid at room temperature to an aqueous dispersion of clay and a binder. In the examples: (1) liquid paraffin is emulsified in water with sodium caseinate and potassium hydroxide; Japanese acid clay is dispersed in water with sodium hydroxide, and styrene-butadiene latex and sodium caseinate added; the two emulsions are mixed in various proportions and coated on to paper, and the coated paper tested for ease of colour-forming and resistance to discolouring; (2-5) the liquid paraffin is replaced by a fluorinated hydrocarbon oil, a silicone oil, chlorinated diphenyl or benzene respectively.
