Abstract
Oxazole derivs. of formula (I) or (when R = H) their alkali metal salts, are new. In (I) n = 7-9 R = H or lower alkyl. - Specifically claimed are 4,5-diphenyl-2-oxazole-octanoic and -nonanoic acids, and their methyl esters. Also claimed are compounds of formula (II)-(IV), where R1 = phenyl or thienyl; R2 = H, lower alkyl or together with CO2 forms tetrazole-1-yl, X = -CH2CH2-, -CH=CH- or -CH2O-; Y (which is attached in the 3- or 4-position) is -OCH2-, -CH2CH2- or -CH=Ch-; When R2 = H, (II) can also be in the form of an alkali metal salt. - Dose is 0.1-50 mg/kg orally and 0.05-10 mg/kg parenterally.
