Abstract
The toxicity to biological waste water clarification processes of certain industrial waste waters from organic chemical, pharmaceutical or other industrial plants is reduced and the toxic waste water is purified by reacting the pre-sedimented toxic raw water with dextrin cpds. having a cyclic structure in a mixing basin with constant stirring. - The resulting mixt. is treated with live mud, the suspension resulting from the live mud treatment is fed to the adsorption vol. provided in the aerating basin, and then to the normal aerating and sedimenting stations. The live mud can be regenerated pref. in a special aerating basin using special aerating equipment, to eliminate the adsorbed complexes formed between the dextrin cpds. and the toxic materials. The regenerated live mud is pref. fed back into the mixt. of raw toxic water and dextrin cpds.
