Abstract

An enhanced anaerobic purification method of sniffed effluents from small settlement domestic sources and from seasonally highly contaminated industrial sources may use a combination of known purification processes. In order to find the best combination, the following conditions, load characteristics and technological details were considered: - Wide quantitative and qualitative variation and periodicity of effluent volumes; anaerobic state. - Preferential choice of an anaerobic biological treatment method over the uneconomic nature of oxygen supplies for aerobic treatment. - Improvement in treatment-efficiency due to vertical fluctuating motion of the (anaerobic gps. comprising) active sludge cloud. - Improvement in efficiency by introducing feeding bodies, to increase the concentration of anaerobic bacterial gps. in zones of suspended matter deficiency.
