The most common form of herpes skin symptoms, cold sores, often only causes a temporary cosmetic defect, but it can happen that the process spreads to a large part of the lips, making eating difficult and affecting daily work.

The best-known representative of herpes viruses is HSV (herpes simplex virus). The frequency of herpes simplex virus infection is increasing worldwide and the disease is now considered a common disease. There are two types of herpes simplex virus, herpes simplex virus type 1 usually causes symptoms on the upper body, most often on the lips, while herpes simplex virus type 2 most often causes skin symptoms in the genital area.

In the medical literature, there are indications for the treatment of herpes simplex, primarily in dermatology, which consists of general and local treatment, and the use of immunostimulating agents.

Oral agents are usually used for general treatment. One such preparation is a synthetic nucleoside analogue, acyclovir. 1-1.6 g is administered for 10 days.

Boric acid is only approved for external use according to Ph. Hg VII. It has a weak disinfectant effect. Its application range is for washing the stomach and wounds in a 2-3% solution.

Our invention is based on the realization that boric acid, previously used mainly for infections and inflammations, can be used effectively in a new area, by following appropriate dosage instructions, to treat infections caused by H.S.V.

According to the invention, the essence of herpes simplex treatment is to administer, using a known laboratory device for at least 4-6 days, as a powdered medicinal substance:

A homogenized powder of boric acid (¾ BOsj, 1.96-2.0 g/dose and lactose, 0.3-0.5 g/dose, as an additive, is administered into the posterior vaginal vault. Antiherpetic, antiviral, immunostimulants, and analgesics are not used.

Advantages of the method according to the invention:

1. The method has been proven to be safe for the treatment of herpes simplex (17 out of 17 cases were cured)

2. Prevents relapses.

3. The procedure is gentle and has no side effects.

4. Extremely economical because it is very cheap

-4The essence of the invention:

1. Boric acid is a previously known agent, but we are using it for a new indication, a new purpose, and we are getting a new area of application for the treatment of herpes simplex.

2. With this method, we demonstrated that boric acid has a previously unknown antiviral effect against herpes simplex viruses.

3. In this way, we have broadened the possibilities of using boric acid. With the developed method, we have obtained a new, positive effect medical treatment procedure - treatment of herpes simplex using boric acid, through the vagina.

Patent claims: 1. A method for treating herpes simplex, characterized in that an acidic, powdered medicinal substance is applied vaginally, optionally with an additive. 2. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that boric acid is used as the medicinal substance, and optionally lactose is used as the additive.
