Abstract

The Waste to Energy module has at least one heating unit to raise raw material and/or oxidising agent temperature. Heating units generate heat by utilizing primary and/or secondary fuels. The module also has an inlet suitable for the introduction of wholly or partly gasifiable compounds and oxidising agents e.g. steam or other compounds. At least one associated structure is capable of removing raw fuel gas and/or flue gases and/or solids as ash etc. The module also contains a gas purification unit complete with a filter, preferably of metallic membrane type. The module is capable of converting at least part of the raw materials, into a gas containing H2 and CO i.e.: synthesizing gas, water gas, or generator gas or another, conversion taking place by partial oxidation with steam at elevated temperatures. A proportion of the gas, especially its H2 content, is isolated. A partial pressure difference is established between two spaces separated by the filter in the gas purification module, thus allowing the passage by diffusion of a component of the gas produced.
