Abstract

The cardboard container cover has a tear-open portion for initial opening. It is made of soft synthetic material with some degree of elasticity and in one piece. It comprises a cap (3) forming the cover proper and a ring (2) securing it in place and reinforcing the edge of the container. The ring is fixed to the edge having strips (2a, 2b) fitting either side of it, being joined to the cap by a cylindrical tear-open strip (4), with weakened lines (4a, 4b) and a protruding lug. The cap can have an edge (3a) fitting over the ring after initial opening, and with a protrusion (3b) on the inside. As shown in Figures 1 and 5, the present invention relates to a closure lid for cartons, particularly food containers, which provides or prolongs the preservation of the contents of the box after first opening.

As is known, there are different types of lids 5 which close a container before first opening and before using its contents. They are most often made up of multiple parts and made up of different materials and do not allow the container to be resealed after first use, or under the hygienic conditions required for food.

The present invention seeks to overcome these shortcomings by providing a lid for cartons, namely cartons containing food or dietary food, which ensure that the box is sealed and intact before first opening and easy to open and re-seal after first use.

The lid suitable for cardboard boxes according to the invention is characterized in that it is made of a lenient synthetic material which has a certain elasticity and is molded in one piece before the first opening and has a lid which forms a lid and a ring 25 which is attached to the box and has a flange on each side of the box face, and a cylindrical tear strip which, prior to first opening of the box, has a scissor / forming line of lower resistance to the cap and the rings and g gears. The cap 3 consists of a body and a rim 3a. In the first embodiment shown in Figures 1a and 2a, the flange 3a is formed by a shell formed from the edge of the body of the lid, open towards the box 5 and having free flanges 3b on the inside. It is connected to the inner surface by a shoulder 3c which is separated by a distance from the inside of the body of the cap and is greater than the distance between the shoulder 2c and the upper edge of the ring 2 while the inside width of the jacket is equal to the outer width of the ring.

In another embodiment illustrated in Figures 1b, 2b and 3, the rim 3a of the lid is formed by a mantle flanking the body of the lid, the outer width of which is equal to the inner width of the ring 2. The mantle extends beyond the annular edge of the upper portion of the cap, the cap extending beyond the mantle to serve as a gripping means for the operator, and the annular edge is then equal to the outer width of the ring 2. In order to seal the box with the lid, the ring 2 preferably has an inner side extending downwards, i.e. towards the outside of the box, while the outer side of the cap 3 is formed accordingly.

In the two embodiments described, the body of the cap 3 may be a bowl having an inner annular rim as shown in Figures 1a and 1b. This tray can be used to hold objects, such as a detailed instruction manual on how to use the contents of the box. In the first embodiment, this bowl is also surrounded from the outside by an annular rim with the outer edge of the jacket 3a attached, while in the second embodiment the side wall of the bowl, the outer surface of which preferably has a frustoconical shape, forms the jacket 3a.

The lid part 3 and the ring 2 are joined at the time of manufacture, i.e. at the moment of molding, with a tear strip 4 of the same material. This tear strip, which is made during casting, is connected to the upper rim 2d of the ring along a tapered line 4b, which forms a lower resistance section, and also to the lower edge of the cap shell 3, which is again a tapered line 4a. The tear strip 4 forms a continuous band which completely surrounds the cap and the ring and is closed by itself along the tapered line 6 from line 4a to line 4b, which also forms a lower resistance section. To this is attached the tongue 7 along its entire length, the other side of which is free and the outer side is notched parallel to the line 6, to facilitate the grip of the tongue with the fingers when the strip is to be torn off.

The unit formed by the cap, tear tab and ring, as it is finished at the end of the molding and preferably made of flexible plastic, is glued to the top of the box, which is preferably made of cardboard. The box can be filled beforehand, but it can be filled later, then sealed with a tinplate bottom weld or any other solid way. The way in which the ring is secured to the box is done so that the ring 2 completely covers the face of the box and the flanges 2a, 2b are fitted with their inner surfaces to the outer surfaces of the box side. In this way, the box is hermetically sealed and its contents protected from the ambient air.

For the first opening, the user grabs and pulls the tongue 7, tearing the tongue along the least resilient tang 6, and then pulling the tongue further apart from the part 4c but remaining against the part 4d, tearing it to the weaker part 4a and 4b until the entire tear strip 4 has been torn off, as a result of which the cap 3 is released.

During use of the contents of the box, the box may be closed after each opening by means of the cap, which in this case constitutes the closure of the box.

In the first embodiment of the cap, the box is closed by placing the cap of the cap 3 on the ring 2 so that the inside of its outer side faces the outer side of the flange 2b and the flange 3b rests against the outer side of this flange. The jacket then expands slightly due to the elasticity of the material. When the cap is sufficiently seated on the ring, the shoulder 3c of flange 3b is placed against the shoulder of flange 2b on the box wall, due to its resilience, the sheath returns to its original shape, the flange 3b is then approaching the outside wall locking the cap and ring and sealing the box.

Alternatively, the closure of the box is achieved in a conventional manner by pushing the cap inside the ring so that the outer surface of the jacket contacts the inner surface of the rim 2a of the ring.

It is obvious that in both cases, the ring 2 may be provided with a membrane which can be torn at the first opening and which, on the one hand, provides complete integrity of the box prior to first opening and protects the contents of the box prior to consumption from external influences. the closure 50 according to the invention is also provided.
