Abstract
A composition based on thermoplastic polymers, especially a-olefin polymers, such as polyethylene or ethylene co-polymers, containing, as degradability promoting additives, a biodegradable substance, an iron compound in solution within the composition and can be a complex, preferably a substance that can be oxidised, with one or more double bonds selected from fatty acids and/or esters of fatty acids, and if required, as a catalyst, an additional transition metal compound other than iron, presents a significantly improved degradability under the effect of heat and/ or ultra-violet light and/or sunlight and/or under conditions of degradation.
