Abstract

The invention concerns a collapsible carton which has a rectangular cross-section and a lid which is hinged on the upper edge of one side and has a three-sided border. When the lid is closed, its border extends parallel to the other three sides (5, 8a, 10a, 8b, 10b) and abuts them closely on the exterior. Hinged at the upper edge of at least one of the three sides is a tab (12) which is bent downwards when the lid is closed so that the lower edge of the tab abuts a stop edge (14) on the interior of the lid border. According to the invention, the tab (12) is disposed on at least one of the sides (8a, 10a, 8b, 10b) adjacent the lid hinge. In the inner layer (6a, 6b) of the double-layer lid border, immediately adjacent the lid, is a material recess (13) whose dimensions correspond at least to those of the tab (12), such that the lower edge of the recess (13) in the inner layer forms the stop edge (14).
