Abstract

A two-piece angled connector (6) and its outer housing (23) collectively provide an attachment for the flexible suction base (7) of a vacuum cleaner (1) to the motor housing (3). The complete connector assembly (6) is mounted on the lift-up cover (4) of a filter compartment (not shown) and is retained by a pair of pushbutton operated spring claws (not shown) engaging with corresponding slots in a circular turntable (29) which latter provides for rotation of the connector through 360 degrees about the axis (44). The two tubular sections (8, 9) forming the interior of the connector (6) are hinged along an axis (2), clip together via the catch (19, 20) and can be readily separated to assist blockage removal, cleaning etc.
