Abstract

The submersible screw mixer of the invention comprises means for the orientation of the screw, for example a motorised system (12, 13, 14) making it possible to pivot the support (4) of the screw (1) between two extreme directions, and means (15) for controlling the orientation means, actuated by a programmed clock so as to trigger the continuous or sequential movement of the screw from one direction to the other at predetermined time intervals. Preferably, the time interval corresponds substantially to the reversal time of the recirculation rollers in the basin. Preferably, the mixer is fastened along one wall (6) of the basin, and the angle formed by each of the two directions with a perpendicular to the wall (6) in line with the screw is between 8 DEG and 60 DEG . <IMAGE>
