Abstract

Subject: aluminium profile 1 having a double thermal insulation block along its length for enhancing its thermal insulation properties. The thermal insulation block is composed of two layers of thermal insulation material one enclosing another along the length of the profile: the internal layer is composed of a mechanically-positioned thermal insulation block 2, and a compact or cellular rod made of polyamide, PVC or other analogous thermoplastic material; the external layer enclosing the internal one is composed of a cast thermal insulation block 3 created by synchronical injection into the void space - along the length of the profile- of a monomer material and a catalyst and by in-situ polymerization of said monomer material to form thus the enclosing thermal polymer insulation block. Advantage: drastic reduction of the thermal conductivity of the profile and, consequently, improvement of the thermal insulation properties thereof.
