This invention relates, in part, to newly identified methods of using quinolone antibiotics, particularly a gemifloxan compound against certain pathogenic bacteria, such as bacteria selected from the group consisting of : Acinetobacter spp., Enterbacteria spp., Procteus mirabilis, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Escherichia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
