Abstract

999,593. Reservoir brushes. JERCLAYDON Inc. Nov. 22, 1963 [March 14, 1963; Aug. 20, 1963], No. 46227/63. Heading A4K. A brush head, for attachment at its lower end 15 to and dispensing detergent foam from an aerosol container 25 comprises an open bottomed cap 10 having an apertured front wall 16 carrying a brush 11 with a bristle free region 38 adjacent the aperture and a rear wall apertured as at 22, and a dispenser button discharge tube 12 having a hollow portion 40 threaded upon the discharge valve end of the aerosol 25, a discharge spout 42 extending to the front wall aperture and a finger operated rear portion 45 extending through the rear wall aperture 22, whereby actuation by pressing of the finger portion 45 causes the valve of the aerosol 25 to be opened and allows foam to flow through the hollow part 40 and the spout 42 to the bristle free region 38. The brush 11 has a resiliently flexible back 31 carrying oppositely directed pairs of hooks 32, 33 for releasably engaging apertures in the front wall 16, buttons 34 for a snap engagement in holes in the front wall 16, and an aperture 37 aligned with the front wall 16 discharge aperture. A guide comprising a top wall 36 and side walls may be provided around the brush back aperture 37. The interior of the cap 10 is provided with pairs of camming ribs 19, 20, 21 which engage the top of the aerosol container 25 when the cap 10 is pushed thereon to be held by engagement of a peripheral bead 24 on the container 25 with a slot 28 and a circumferential shoulder 29 at the bottom 15 of the cap 10 and pressure due to engagement of the ribs 19-21 with the container 25. In alternative embodiment (Fig. 8, not shown) spaced shoulders are provided on the skirt 15 and the bead 24 is held between the shoulders and the lower ends of the ribs, the latter in this case not engaging the top of the container 25. Adhesive may be additionally used to secure the bead 24 to the cap skirt 15.
