Abstract
998,988. ATC system. WESTINGHOUSE BRAKE & SIGNAL CO. Ltd. Oct. 3, 1963 [Nov. 7, 1962], No. 42106/62. Heading B7H. In an A.T.C. system, code modulated signalling current in track 4 is picked up by coils L1 on the train which are tuned to the signalling current frequency by capacitor C1, and applied via amplifier 5 to a Zener diode rectifier bridge 6 which supplies the coded signal to a number of units 7, each selectively tuned to a different code frequency and connected to a decoding relay 8. Each unit 7 comprises a filter L2, C2, tuned to a code frequency, and a magnetic amplifier T1 including a control winding connected to the filter output and an A.C. winding connected in series with A.C. source 9 and the primary of transformer T2. The transformer secondary is connected to decoding relay 8 via a rectifying circuit D1, D2.
