In a feed board over which sheets in overlapping formation are fed towards the lays of a printing or other machine by a feed roller 7 and by pairs of feed rollers 10, 23 and top rollers 9, 24, the rollers 23, 24 being mounted in a frame 18 which is adjustable in the direction of feed, the front half 5 of the feed board is pivotal upwardly with the frame 18 about a pivot shaft 4 on which is freely mounted a bevel gear 15 in mesh with a bevel gear 22 secured on the driving shaft 16 for the spindles 17 of the rollers 23, and in mesh with a bevel gear secured on the driving shaft 14 for the spindles 12, 13 of the rollers 10. Thus, when the part 5 of the feed board is raised, the overlapped sheets thereon are fed forwardly and stretched by the rollers 23, 24 due to the rotation of the shaft 16 caused by the bevel gear arrangement, so that the sheets are not creased at the joint between the part 5 and the fixed part 3 of the table. The shaft 14 is driven from the roller 7 which is clutched to the drive of the machine, and this clutch is automatically disabled by a device 35, operated from the part 5 of the feed board through a chain 34 as soon as the part 5 is raised. The frame 18 is connected by rods 11 and levers 19 to the shaft 4, so that when the latter is rotated by a handle 20, the frame 18 and its rollers are adjusted in the direction of sheet feed. The drive shaft 16 oscillates, through a cam disc and fork device, a rod which is connected through bell-crank levers to side rails which register the sheets transversely on the part 5 of the feed board.
