995,741. Aircraft tyres. PNEUMATIQUES CAOUTCHOUC MANUFACTURE ET PLASTIQUES KLEBER-COLOMBES. Oct. 6, 1961 [Oct. 7, 1960], No. 36015/61. Heading B7C. An aircraft pneumatic tyre has plies 14, 15 of parallel cords embedded within the tread rubber 13 radially outwardly spaced from the carcase plies 10 and from each other, the plies 14, 15 extending at each side at least to the bead heel 14, and possibly to the bead toe 151, and the cord angle of the plies 14, 15, being from 20 degrees to 60 degrees to the mid-circumferential line. Additional layers 16, 17 of parallel cords may be embedded in the tread between the plies 14, 15 and between the ply 14 and the carcase plies, the outermost layer 16 lying adjacent ply 14 at the tyre crown and adjacent ply 15 at the shoulders. Likewise the cross-laid layers 17 are contiguous with the carcase plies 10 at the crown and contiguous with the ply 14 at the shoulders. The cords of layer 16 are parallel with those of ply 15, and the cords of the layers 17 are parallel with those of their respective adjacent carcase ply 10 or tread ply 14.
