Abstract

995,108. Pillows. PUROFIED DOWN PRODUCTS CORPORATION. March 25, 1963 [Jan. 9, 1963], No. 11745/63. Heading A4M. An adjustable pillow 10 comprises four flexible rectangular panels 14, 17, 18, 16 joined together along three sides 19, 20 forming three pockets 11, 12, 13, the pockets 11, 12 being joined together at borders 21, 22 respectively and the pocket 13 being co-extensive with the length and width of the panels and having a slide fastener 24 closing its ends. The pockets 11, 12 are filled with a relatively soft filler material, e.g. natural fibres, synthetic fibres, Acrilan or Vycron, and one or more resilient inserts 26 are placed in the pocket 13 to adjust the degree of softness of the pillow 10. The inserts 26 comprise slabs 27 of a foamed elastomeric material, e.g. synthetic or natural sponge rubber, foamed elastomeric polyurethane or other foamed synthetic elastomer having a flexible cover 28.
