Abstract
A sprayable aqueous-organic mixture contained in a vessel under pressure comprises a water-in-oil emulsion containing in the aqueous phase the solid or liquid active ingredients, the continuous oil phase comprising dimethoxymethane as solvent, and liquefied propellants such as fluorinated hydrocarbons, propane or butane.ALSO:An insecticidal composition in "aerosol" form comprises an insecticide, a surface-active agent, dimethoxymethane, water and a propellant in the form of a water-in-oil emulsion. The insecticide may be pyrethrum, pyrethroids, Derris, a chlorinated hydrocarbon, a phosphoric acid ester, a thio- or di-thio-phosphoric acid ester, a phosphoric acid ester, a phosphoric acid ester amide, a carbamate or a dithiocarbamate; mixtures of these which may also contain a synergist, such as 3,4-(methylenedioxy - 6 - propylbenzyl) - butyldiethylene glycol ether or succinic acid dibutyl ester, may be used.
