993, 507. Finishing fabrics. P. F. VAN VLISSINGEN & CO'S KATOENFABRIEKEN N.V. July 26, 1963 [April 1, 1963], No. 29832/63. Heading D1S. Apparatus for straightening weft threads in a travelling web of fabric comprises a correction assembly and a sensing and marshalling device, the pulses of which control the correction assembly, said correction assembly comprising a slant corrector consisting of at least two rollers and a curve corrector consisting of two rollers, the rollers being so arranged that the centre of the slant corrector coincides with the centre of the curve corrector, the slant corrector rollers being mounted for rocking movement about an axis intersecting the centres of the slant corrector rollers. As shown the apparatus comprises a feed-in roller 1, a feed out roller 7, two smooth straight rollers 2, 6 for correcting the slant of weft threads and mounted in a cradle 8 pivotable about trunnions 9, two smooth curved rollers 3, 4 for correcting curved weft threads and a guide roller 5. A web 12 of fabric is passed through as shown. A conventional electronic sensing and marshalling device is incorporated, the pulses of which control the correction assembly. The slant correcting rollers 2, 6 are inclined one way or the other by movement of the cradle 8 to correct any slant in the weft threads and the rollers 3, 4 are rotated one way or the other to correct any curvature in the weft threads.
