A box for dispensing pastilles comprises a wheel 6 having pastille receiving notches 7 which are brought successively into alignment with an aperture 13 as the wheel rotates. The wheel is controlled by a knob 10, the spindle 9 of which extends through a hole 11 in the bottom of the box and a hole 8 in the wheel 6 and is then burred over. The knob 10 has a boss 15 which engages recesses 16 in the bottom of the box so that the wheel 6 can be rotated stepwise and to prevent reverse rotation of the wheel The lid 3 of the box is preferably transparent.
